Are Self Publishing Services Worth the Investment?

I’ve been exploring different self publishing services for my upcoming book, but I’m unsure if they truly deliver value. Do these services cover everything an author needs, from editing and formatting to marketing and distribution? Are there hidden costs or limitations that first-time writers should be aware of? I’d love to hear experiences from authors who’ve used these services did they make the publishing process easier, or were there challenges that required extra effort?
